Here are my most seven useful websites for Managers, HR and Employers in the UK.
1. Mindful Employer
MINDFUL EMPLOYER provides your organisation with:
- Easily accessible information and resources
- Signposting to national supporting agencies and those who are local to you
- A Charter for Employers who are Positive About Mental Health – a public, tangible sign of your commitment to your staff
- Links to other employers who may have had similar experiences through LinkedIn and Local Employer Networks
- Training in mental health awareness
- Practical, hands-on support
2. Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid is an educational course which teaches people how to identify, understand and help a person who may be developing a mental health issue. In the same way as we learn physical first aid, Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to recognise those crucial warning signs of mental ill health.
Developed in Australia in 2000 and now internationally recognised in 23 countries, the MHFA course teaches people how to recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues, offer help on a first aid basis and effectively guide someone towards the right support services.

3. Employers Guide to Free Fitness for Work Services
GP’s and employers throughout England and Wales can now refer their employed patients and employees who have been, or are likely to be, off sick from work for four weeks or more for a voluntary occupational health assessment.
Download the free information about the service here or watch the video here.
4. Employers Charter
The Employer’s Charter sets out clearly the rights an Employer has in the workplace.
For example, the right to withhold pay from those who go on strike or to sack someone for poor performance. It’s all there in black and white so there’s no longer any confusion.

5. Ask Frank
Researched and up to date information about all drugs for employers to use as a reference point. All in a friendly open way with contact numbers and advice.
6. NHS Choices

Do your workers need a GP? Have they got a question about their health? Send them to NHS choices website for evidence based information and advice.
7. HSE
The health and safety executive has loads of information which guides employers through the maze of regulations and best practice for all industries and conditions. There is also links to other relevant sites and advice on where to go for further information.
