When I wrote The Forgotten Room, I wanted to capture that magic — the joy of play, and the way games bring families together. These days, we live in a world of screens and instant entertainment, but something special happens when we gather round a table. We laugh more. We argue (a little). We create memories.

In my story, The Forgotten Room, the game pieces know this. They’re tired of being ignored while the shiny iPad takes centre stage and calls them all has-beens and losers. So, they come up with a plan to remind the family what they’re missing. It’s a mischievous, sometimes disastrous, but ultimately heartwarming adventure.

Nostalgia at Christmas

For me, this book is a love letter to family traditions, to the spirit of Christmas, and to the games that shaped our childhoods. I hope when readers turn the last page, they’ll feel inspired to dust off an old favourite and play together again.

Story
